  1. Register for the race.  Set the goal first and foremost--this is the single biggest factor in following through.
  2. Assemble your team. We're allowing both 2 and 3 person teams for Coed, Open, and Masters divisions.
  3. Take a look at Mandatory Gear List to see what you need to buy/borrow/steal for the race.
  4. Check out the Accomodations page and make reservations for where you'll stay the night before (and possibly after) the race. If you are travelling, you'll need to ship your bikes. Please see our bike shipping information.
  5. If you will be navigating for your team ROC Gear, Inc has an instruction DVD/Compass combo for sell.  Also, read over the UTM Plotting Guide at Infiniterra Sports. Also, check out Jim Farmer's Navigation guide.  Also, attend one of the Trailblazer Adventure Racing Club (TBARC) Navigation Clinics. They are often posted in the TBARC Event Calendar.  See this thread for details on their schedule.
  6. There are a couple of discussion threads on the TBARC forums here and here.
  7. Pura Vida Adventures oftentimes puts on intense clinics.  See here.
