Whether you are a racer, a sponsor, or race management, you've got to be pumped about the 2010 Atomic Adventure Race presented by Fuji Bikes. And with that, I want to let you racers know that the early bird payment deadline of January 31st for the event is fast approaching. So this is the official reminder for you folks that intend on signing up as early birds for the race to get your team paid up. Online payments received on or before 01/31/2010 and checks postmarked on or before 01/31/2010 will be accepted as early bird payments. As early birds, you are entitled to the following:
Early Bird Payment:
We love early birds. Why? Because early birds are committed to racing and more importantly letting everybody else know that they are racing. Early birds help Race Management with budgeting and up-front expenses. As a result, we like to shower early birds with the VIP treatment. Here are some of the things you will receive as an early bird:
- Getting your money's worth--guaranteed. Some register last minute because they worry their registration dollars will be wasted if life happens and they cannot race. Not as an early bird! If for some aweful reason you are unable to race the 2010 Atomic Adventure Race after having paid as an early bird, you may have your registration carry over to 2011 in lieu of the refund policy. This means a knee injury a week before the race is not a total loss, and that you have a goal for getting that sucker rehabilitated by 2011!
- Captains of early bird teams are given a choice of extra schwag items (in 2009, Injinji Performance Tetrasoks or Adventure Medical Kits .7s).
- Early bird team members will be entered into an exclusive gear drawing (last year it was for a Fuji Bikes Full Suspension mountain bike frame).
There you have it, straight from the registration page. So it's time to register your team and put your money where your mouth is. We promise this event will be worth every penny! Don't believe me? Then I'd encourage you to talk with some of the 20+ early bird teams already registered for the race (4+ months in advance!). Or, read some of these quotes from last year's event:
"One of the most inspiring events I've ever photographed."
--Laraleigh from TheElleStudio (Race Photographer)
"...the Atomic AR was extremely well run and those guys really set the standard for other races!" --Jennifer Moos from Team Paradofobia
"...this race was a butt kicker in every good sense of the phrase. It was totally an epic course, full of fun and adventure." --Tim Buckholz of Green Paw Adventure Sports (previously Team Shake-A-Leg Miami)
"I drug my carcass up the stairs. I can honestly say I left it all out on the course. I was completely spent. In my opinion this was the best run event I have ever attended." --John Franco of Team Layer 3
"The energy & passion you guys bring to this sport is unmatched..." --Jay Scott of Team NADS/Freeflite
"Man, that was EPIC!!!" --Julia Radmann of Team ROAM/Inov-8
"I typically don't travel too far to adventure race...but if I were to travel the Atomic AR would be one that I would travel for. I would suggest it's one of the top ARs in the country this year. And best attended with good competition...it's obvious that a lot of time and effort went in to producing the event." --Steve-O
Now, for teams that have already registered but have not paid (read: need to pay on or before January 31st to be considered Early Bird payment), here is the process:
- Click on the link provided in your registration confirmation email to update your registration information/make payment.
- Confirm all your registration information is still accurate and click the "Update Information/Proceed to Payment" button.
- Click the Google Checkout button and make your payment or follow the instructions for paying by check. If you have never made a payment through Google Checkout before, you may be prompted to comfirm your payment method (credit card, bank account, or whatever) while doing so.
That's it for now. See you out there!
