Wenonah Canoe joins the Atomic Adventure Race as a Platinum sponsor. They will be providing us with a 17' Royalex Sundowner, to give away to the racers. This boat is widely known as one of the fastest "street-legal" canoes in adventure racing, and is consequently found on the Wenonah Racing website. In addition to its speed, its length sits three plus gear comfortably. We are very excited about Wenonah's partnership with us. This will likely be the first item to go in the general gear raffle. That's right, EVERYBODY has a chance at winning this $1400 canoe with a nack for adventure racing.
Established formally in 1968 in Winona, Minnesota, Wenonah Canoe has roots reaching back into the 1950's. The company is the outgrowth of a lifelong devotion to paddling by Mike Cichanowski, who began canoeing as a Boy Scout, and who began manufacturing canoes while still in college. Today, Wenonah Canoe and its Current Designs kayak brand place them among the largest makers of paddle sports boats in the world, with emphasis on ultra-light and high-performance models. Today, Wenonah remains among the few American paddlesports companies still owned by their founder.
